daonate.it: transparency for charity
It is refreshing to see that blockchain projects are not always a “get rich quick” scheme. Some of us care about their fellow humans more than others and want to do good before doing well.
This is the case of Dane Savcic who wants to create DAOnate.it, a donation management platform to help give charitable enterprises more transparency and make oversight by donors easier.
The principles are that the traceability of blockchain transactions can be used to render every payment transparent and follow the money from donation to disbursement.
The devil, as always, is in the details and there are quite a few things that must be in place if this platform is to be usable by the Doe family’s Jane and Joe.
If you’re appalled by charity scandals, and even more by war and famine and poverty, then give your support to DAOnate.it. Together we can do more with donations.
The goal of the project is to bring down the administrative burden to 1% of donations. This will be done by giving the donors the tools they need to follow and allocate the money they give away and help the charitable organisations spend it transparently.
This is just the start. We need: partnerships with charitable foundations, publicity (retweet, like, post a comment, get in touch), developers to build the platform, legal advice to create the foundation.
You will not do very well out of this ICO (to be announced), but a lot of good.
